What can you do if you believe that you might have an anxiety disorder?  Consult with your physician or mental health professional.  Many times you can learn new coping skills or relaxation techniques which will alleviate anxiety symptoms.  For more extreme cases, medications are available which can help individuals relax.  Antidepressants are also frequently helpful with certain types of anxiety disorders.  Seniors are often embarrassed by emotional problems, but you should know that these problems are treatable.  Dealing with your anxiety problems can improve your general health and your quality of life as well.
